SKLP v Northwood Cricket Club Under 10A on Sun 06 Jul 2014 at 10.00
Northwood Cricket Club Won

Match report Northwood travelled to SKLP in confident mood having performed impressively in previous weeks. However, they were without Kabir, Chris and Jake all unavailable but we were still strong if the rest of the team performed to their potential and with Ben Kleiner and Rahul Chickhilwala joining the team, we were not far off a good strength team although we tried to knock our squad down to 7 by trying to break Tyler's nose before the game. He gets hit in every game so no need to hit him in the warm up!!!

Northwood lost the toss and were invited to bat first. The pairs were changed this week with Sam The Enforcer Pragnell opening with Matt Silent but Deadly Crow, and with the help of some much improved running put on 22 for the first wicket. Second pair Ben Kleiner and Jashan "Stumped" Birah pushed the score onto 239 with Jashan hitting 3 lovely fours round the corner. However one "out" for each of the pair put us back a bit. Rahul Paceman Chikhilwala and Tyler "why do I get hit every week" Pearce then were solid in defence but sadly a couple of wickets again put us back to the same position we were when they went in. Silly run out.

Then Ben "The Colonel" Sergeant and Sabarish Basherish Ganesh came in. Sabarish was after some practice for his tennis match that he had to leave early for and proceeded to bash the opposition around, hitting a quick fire 25 to leave us 270 for the loss of 4 wickets in the 16 overs. An impressive score.

We then took the field with Ben Sergeant leading from the front, being too quick for the oppo, taking a wicket in his first over and Sabarish bowling out his 3 overs quickly before leaving to play Federer at Wimbledon taking 2 for 1 in his three overs including a rare maiden. Sam also bowled well as did Tyler and Paceman Rahul. However, Jashan was the pick of the bowlers taking 2 wickets for 4 runs. Well done. Ben Kleiner also bowled some good deliveries and we restricted a spirited SKLP to 240 in their 16 overs.

A great performance, excellent fielding and bowling straight with Sabarish serving ace after ace to the boundary. Well done to Ben K and Rahul who came into the side to show the B team are a strong team too. Things are looking good at Northwood.

This weekend is a big game but I am sure if we are all on top of our game, we can match the opposition. Let's end the season on a high and if we win, the coca colas and crisps are on me!! See you Sunday
