Match report U13 Friendly Northwood 147-5 (20) beat Harrow 134-9 (20) by 13 runs

An excellent match played on a very good pitch at Harrow enabled a good workout for all the boys.

Raj (19) got us off to a steady start but the innings really took off when James and Kabir got together, with the 2 of them putting on 90 in under 9 overs with James 44* off 34 and Kabir 49 off 26, run out off the last ball. They took advantage of the fast outfield and smallish boundaries with proper cricket shots.

Bowling-wise Manav, Chris and Rahul C were tight at the start before Rahul S took the first two wickets. The powerful Niam of Harrow kept things interesting with a hard-hit 68 before James with 2 wickets put us on top. Only in the last over was it clear we were going to win. This led to an amazing finale with 4 wickets in the last 4 balls, 3 from Raj and a great run-out from Jashan.

The fielding, teamwork and concentration was so much better than last Friday. Cam and Raj were to the fore, plus a great catch from Ben off a no-ball.
