In near perfect batting conditions – good pitch, fast outfield, warm and sunny evening, short boundary – we lacked spark in the field. Everyone bowled OK but only Tyler was better than that, and fielding was sloppy. 140 was about par

We did get off to a flyer batting as Stanmore mixed up their bowling. Charlie looked great, making a Charlie-esque 30. The game gained intensity when one of their players bowled quickly and with 4 bouncers an over, although it never looked like getting many wickets. James headed a good 4.

James batted very sensibly but we became a bit becalmed at the other end and it needed Kabir with a vital 13* to get us over the line. Our captain decided to run one short to deprive himself of a deserved 50 and so ended 49* – always next time!
