Northwood Cricket Club Lost

Match report Northwood came up againhst a well drilled Uxbridge Team with several District players. Despite that the team bowled well with few wides conceeded (maybe I was a little less strict than the opposing umpire....) however, Uxbridge showed the importance of not losing wickets and racked up 276 in the 16 overs. Some tight bowling at times from all bowlers against a good opposition kept the score down well. Well done bowlers!

Uxbridge's bowling was also good and after a slow start from Ben S and Matt followed by a few wickets lost in the middle due to some wild shots meant we were behind the run rate when Kabir and Sabarish went into bat. This pair scored some great shots hitting the ball to all parts and scattering their field. Sabarish particularly hit the ball to the boundary well showing great hand eye co-ordination.

I hope you enjoyed the game - after all that is what we are here for. To win yes but it should be fun!

Two lessons - Play straight and not wildly across the line and in fielding stop their singles and back up where we can. A couple of our run outs came from their good fielding - Something we will address on Sunday!!

Best moment - Tyler - Not his getting hit but staying there after he was hit and showing such bravery when I am sure it hurt a lot, and then getting in line for the next ball!!! Good man. That's the type of spirit to show

Man of the match - Sabarish for his batting at the end!
Sunday, we will have a practice match picked from the A and B teams to go throgh a game in match time. Friday as usual but see you Sunday.
