Match report U15 Cup Northwood 120-6 (20o) beat Stanmore 107-3 (20o) by 13 runs
A most encouraging start to the season

With absentees due to the match needing to be played slap bang in the middle of school holidays, plus a couple of injuries, we had to call on a couple of younger players. The Stanmore ground looked a picture in the sunshine.

We got off to a sticky start losing Manav and James but Kabir (31) and Yuv (27) rescued the initiative with some gutsy and street-smart batting. William (19) added muscle and Tyler (11*) chipped in too to give a very competitive total.

Manav was tidy with the new ball but we only really got into the game through tight bowling from spinners Sabarish and Aryan. James was threatening with missed chances off successive balls. Jashan was live-wire in the field and an excellent throw from the deep with assistance from Kabir removed one of their danger men. James made good bowling changes and a catch.

The field was spread far and wide by the end but we saw the game home by a relatively comfortable 13 runs
