Match report U13 Friendly Northwood 77ao (18.2) beat Uxbridge 58ao (15.3) by 19 runs

For the second evening running, we triumphed in a low-scoring game in which we bowled and fielded much better than we batted. Manav Khindri (18) and Ben Sargeant (21) batted well and looked to be setting the foundations for a good score, but a mid-innings collapse with almost complete lack of foot movement meant we were 58-8. A minor recovery from the tail of Faysaan, Jashan & Chris including two lovely 4s from Chris Hudson gave us something to bowl at. An opening wicket from guest player Mughi, who bowled fast and straight got us off to a good start but it was the slow-medium of Chris Hudson and Jashan Birah, together with excellent fielding, that turned the game. Chris (2-20) was very close to a hat-trick while Jashan (2-5 off 3) settled in to a great groove outside off stump. With Cameron Scorringe producing a fine throw to produce a run-out, and alertness from Kabir running out their best batsman, it was a team performance to savour.
