Match report U13 County Cup 1/4 Final Northwood 78-10 (20) lost to Harrow 218-4 (20) by 140 runs

This was one of the great ‘what if’ games despite the huge margin of defeat. Having removed their dangerous opener first ball of the match, we dropped key man Nathan twice in the first three overs, both difficult but chances we were catching in the pre-match drill. There followed 19 overs of carnage when Nathan made 148 with good support from the other county bat. Bizarrely, James then took a hatrick of the 3 county players in the last over, albeit 2 well caught in the deep by Jashan and Cameron, and a neat stumping from Kabir ,but they all count!

With the bat it was galling to see that only Kabir, with a fine 51 was up for the challenge despite having already kept for around 70 overs in the day.

While this was undoubtedly a reality check on the progress we have made, the batting was worth watching and if they had been 5-2……
