Match report U15 League Northwood U15a 71-6 (15) lost to Eastcote U15a 75-4 (13.2) by 6 wickets
A match that illustrated what a tough division this is – we really struggled with the bat but did really well with the ball and in the field.

James (20) and Charlie (16) started well but again, but just when we need to go up a further gear both got out and we never really picked up from there, not hitting a boundary in the final 5-over segment.

Batsmen must not worry about getting out, doing so can make them tentative and more likely to get out. We need to express ourselves and aim for 130 off 20 overs, even if its 9 down or all out.

We needed to burst out of the blocks with the ball and did just that, Gurman bowled a magnificent 3 overs (2-6) looking like taking a wicket with every ball with the Eastcote playing content to play him out in his final over. Sabarish gave tight support. At 9-2 off 5 overs it was game on. However Eastcote gradually got control and despite wickets for spinners Sabarish and James we lost with 10 balls to spare.

That is the third game running where we have disappointed in the first innings only to produce much better cricket and fight in the 2nd half.
