Match report U15 League Northwood U15a 124-5 (20) tied with Harrow U15a 124-5 (20)

The best was saved to last as the game swung one way then the other before a dramatic finale, against league winners and unbeaten Harrow

After an even start with Gurman and Sab tidy, Ben took a wicket first up before James with a varied assortment bagged 3 wickets. Great catches by Gurman and especially Josh. Tyler on the mark as usual. A late burst gave Harrow a good score on a slowish wicket.

After the early loss of Charlie (not his day this week) James and Ben rebuilt against testing bowling but at halfway we needed 83 which looked a tall order. Momentum came from the promoted Gurman and James who didn’t have much strike but hit a big 6. With 33 needed off 3 overs, and then 28 off 15 balls, Gurman suddenly hit the 2 sweetest of 6s before being bowled for a fine 43.

Finally the equation was 2 off 1 ball with no one knowing quite what would happen if we got 1. Anyway we managed about 1.95 with James just short and run out for 44

A great game of cricket. At least 10 Harrow people complimented me on how well our boys played
