Match report U15 League Northwood U15b 152-5 (20) beat Northwood Town U15 112-4 (20) by 40 runs

Northwood won the toss and elected to bat. Raj (23) and Jashan (46) opened the batting and set about building a solid base before we lost the two wickets of Jashan and Nayan in the 11th over with the score on 83. Raj on 16 at the time then lasted until the 14th over before further vital quick runs were added by William (18), Riam (18) & Aarav (14). Josh rounded off the innings to face the last ball yet faced three. There were some delightful shots played, including two huge sixes from Jashan, and delightful fours from William, Riam & Aarav.

We ended the innings on a fantastic 152-5 (120 off the bat) however this should have been much higher had we run quicker and called better to turn the singles into two’s, etc. We must also remember to keep rotating the strike and not have too many dot balls.

In the field we done well, including plenty of running as well as a fabulous running dive by Laurence. However we still need to remember to ensure we are following the instructions of the captain since at times the field moved between balls from what was requested.

Generally we bowled well utilising 9 bowlers, but did still give away too many extras. Wickets were shared between Ashok, Aarav & Raj.

All round a great performance. Well done.
