We played really well at times but ultimately never really threatened the Harrow score.

We started well in the field, with Gurman looking every inch the threatening opening bowler that he was before his injuries. Sab was also excellent, with Ben and Tyler not far behind. However James and Charlie M, on their returns from a combination of injury/isolation/illness were nowhere near their best and 135 was a good score on the stodgy wicket. Fielding was truly excellent, with many good catches and ground fielding in the deep, Tyler’s C&B over his shoulder probably the pick.

James and Charlie started with 30 off 5 overs to raise hopes with one huge 6 from James the highlight, but after that we didn’t show much intent against accurate and varied Harrow bowling, and our challenge rather petered out. Of their chat in the field, the less said the better, although it was never offensive. The most impressive batting came from Manav who hit hard down the ground and looked a quality batsman in making 25* to at least get us into three figures.

Plenty of good things to build on but biggest learning point is that we must continue to play aggressive cricket against good opposition, as we will guarantee defeat if we don’t.
