Match report U15 League Northwood B 107-1 (15o) lost to OMT CC C 118-8 (15o) by 11 runs

Due to the early part of the season, the match was reduced to 15 overs a side to ensure we got a finish before the light went.

Having lost the toss and being put into the field, we very quickly had OMT wobbling. After 4 overs , we had them 9-4 with Josh 1 wicket, Jashan 2 wickets, one supported by a great catch from Sabarish, and a superb direct hit run out by Ashok. What a start. However we then entered a phase of some bowling that went for lots of extras or was punished heavily. We eventually got one of their danger men with a very high looping ball by Matthew which bowled him out. Further wickets were from Sabarish, Rahul supported by a catch on the run from Jashan and another calmly taken run out by Ashok. The tail then put on a spirited fight and managed to get OMT up to 118.

Our innings started of with some intelligent play of seeing what the pitch was doing, before Raj was bowled. Then followed a 12 over partnership of 94 from Sabarish 51no & Jashan 34no who managed to get us up to 107. A good run chase, however just not enough. Some good fielding from OMT prevented some certain boundaries.

Many positives to take, however areas to work on in terms of bowling and fielding. In the field we must remember to remain alert at all times, ensuring we are in the positions required and walking in. Batting wise we also need to look to see if there are chances of taking the quick single or a two rather than a one. Remember with the overs ticking down and with 9 wickets in hand, it's worth taking the gamble on the arm from the field.
