Boxmoor III v Northwood Cricket Club 4th XI on Sat 18 Jun 2022 at 1pm
Northwood Cricket Club Won by 127 runs

Match report Northwood batted first. Pav and Saurabh got us off to a great start. Pav hit 3 lovely boundaries and looked set before missing a pull shot and was plum LBW for 18 runs. It was clear Saurabh was seeing the ball really well and as usual placing the ball in gaps for 1 and 2 runs. He left one slow ball which moved in a lot at the last second and bowled him, but a nice 29 runs by him. Mr Consistent. Aman had a few lives, with a couple of edges and a very close passionate LBW turned down by me, it was very close and another day I would have given it. He worked his way to a nice 27 before edging the first ball of the slowest bowler to the keeper who caught it on 2nd attempt. Jatin survived two close stumpings before finally settling down for 55 runs aided by 3 misfields allowing for a boundary rather than a single and a couple of drops of luck. He also nearly drove Kiran to medication with watching the ball and fielder rather than Kiran’s calling for a single or second. Lesson learnt. Kiran batted superbly to 49 not out, but he took a single from the first ball of the last over and did not get back on strike. Turning to Northwoods Bowling. Stunning bowling by James as opener, so much movement and control, with 6 overs and 1 wicket for 19 runs. Then Anish lined up to bowl and Mandar took about 10 steps back. Saurabh and I were like, why are you standing that far back🤷‍♂️A few balls later and we realised why👍Quick and super line and length bowling by Anish landed him with 5 wicket in 5 overs for 13 runs and Mandar had very sore hands. He has got to be at the level of a 3rd X1 or 2nd X1 bowler. The young lad Jack also bowled very well. Praveen also bowled very well, after the usual one over warm up 😀and his pace added to Mandar’s sore hands. Praveen 7 overs for 17 runs and 0 Wickets but one sharp chance which Mandar had and then dropped. Kiran bowled nicely and took 3 wickets from 3 overs for 5 runs. Mandar kept and captained very well with a long running catch that he held onto and was nice to watch. Never seen him run so fast and enthusiastically😀Saurabh rolled back the years with 2/3 excellent reflex stops. Everyone was involved and contributed in the game and it was a good solid victory. 😀☀️🌈🏏⭐️ Jatin
